Foot and Hip Pain
I wanted to take a moment to let you know how much you have helped me over the last couple of months. As you know I have had foot pain due to plantar fascitis for 15 years and hip pain related to bursitis for 2 years. I was just resigned to the fact that my feet were always going to hurt but I wanted to try acupuncture, a less intrusive alternative before getting injections in my hips which is what the Orthopedist recommended. After 3 acupuncture treatments both conditions are relatively non-existent.
My husband and I travel a great deal and in the past my trips were often overshadowed by how much my feet hurt. It is such a shame to have an opportunity to see such sights as the statue of David and the Coliseum and to be preoccupied with where the closest bench is so that I can sit down. During my trips my feet hurt so bad that I couldn’t even stand to let them touch the mattress at night. My doctor had even prescribed pain medication to help me get through. Since getting acupuncture we have traveled to Germany and for the first time after a long day of sightseeing my husband was the one complaining that his feet were hurting and with a smile I was able to say, “mind don’t!”
Now my Mother and Great Aunt travel 3 hours one way to get treatments and both have received relief from very chronic problems including arthritis and back pain.
I am acupuncture’s new biggest fan and will tell anyone who will stand still long enough.

Back Pain,Carpal Tunnel and Cost
I have been meaning to write this for months now but after yesterday, wow what a relief, there is no more delaying.
As a general contractor involved in mostly remodeling on a full time basis, as well as being a C.P.A. on a part time basis I pretty much abuse my body in the physical sense. I have a reasonably health diet, but poor sleeping habits and I am about to turn Forty.
I was told 10 plus years ago by a MD to get used to the pains, popping and grating that my body was starting to experience. Then two years ago I was diagnosed with a moderate case of carpal tunnel syndrome in both my wrist and was told I would needing surgery in a year or so. I came to you instead of the surgery and after just three short weeks the pain was gone and has stayed away ever since. So of course I have continued to come to you whenever I pull/strain my back or shoulder and as always the pain is relieved, without any pills. The best part is, as a CPA even though my insurance does not cover you, it does not matter, your end treatment cost is less than increases to insurance and the actual MD bills, etc. It is my understanding that some insurance companies are starting to cover your services, but until mine does I will gladly pay you because the relief far out weighs the costs.

Arthritis Pain
I am a 65 year old woman that thought I was destined to a life of pain. It hurt to sit, it hurt to get our of a chair, it hurt to do just about everything. I suffer from arthritis pain. I have this pain in many different joints of my body. I have had one knee replacement with limited success. I have been taking pain medications in order to get about my day as best as I can. I have tried numerous different treatment to fight the pain. I have tried hot wax treatments for my hands. I wore gloves to keep my hands warm. Nothing seemed to help. I saw Greg and was treated with acupuncture twice in one day. I live far away so this was my best option. After my treatment I have been able to do my housework, sit in and get out of chairs all without pain. I have also been able to walk to my son’s house. I had not done that in over a year and a half. Now I look forward to the possibility of working in my garden this spring. I feel as though I have gotten my life back.

Migraine Pain
My neurologist referred me to Greg Johnston for migraine pain management. My migraines along with other pains were taking over my life. I lived daily with pain. I was either in bed most of the time because of pain or on medications that made me a zombie. I walked into Dancing Crane as a skeptic, but I figured at this point that if my doctor prescribed acupuncture, it was worth a shot. There were no other suggestions for gaining relief from unrelenting pain.
My husband interviewed Greg Johnston first and asked questions to make sure this was something that we should try. On my first visit, I left Dancing Crane with hope for possible relief from my pain.
After two or three sessions with Greg Johnston, I found my migraines had all but stopped. They went from all day, everyday day, to once or twice a week. And then they begin decreasing more to the point that I now have an episode once every two or three months.
The amazing thing is that not only did my migraine pain decrease, but also the distress of asthma and any pain form osteoarthritis in my legs decreased.
I realize that Greg Johnston has not only given me hope again, but also has allowed me to enjoy life again with reduced pain.

Fertility
I am a 41 year old female who was told by two top fertility experts that I would probably never have children of my own. For over three years, my husband and I went through various testing, procedures and treatments. We failed every treatment available from clomid, IUI and eve IVF (In-vitro Fertilization) We were left with a diagnosis of “unexplained female factor infertility” and thousands of dollars in medical bills. As a last resort, I tried acupuncture. I admit as I have a PhD in Biochemistry I was very skeptic.
My skepticism soon faded and I became a believer. Acupuncture changed my life. I had my first experience with acupuncture when I was almost 39 years old. I went weekly and actually enjoyed the relaxation of the acupuncture. Most impressive, I had become pregnant in a few short months. It was truly a miracle! I went on to give birth to a healthy boy. About this time our son turned one, we moved to Southwest Virginia. My husband and I wanted another child and I started seeing Greg Johnston in October ’05. Once again, it was a remarkable experience and 5 months later our second child was conceived. Words cannot express my gratitude. Acupuncture really does work.
I highly recommend Greg Johnston to anyone suffering from unexplained infertility. Acupuncture doesn’t hurt, is relaxing and no fertility injections are involved. Also the cost cannot even compare to one cycle of IVF! Acupuncture can make miracles happen.

Stress the Silent Disease
Life can throw some pretty large curves at us and when I first came to the Dancing Crane Center of Chinese Medicine and met Greg Johnston, I was dealing with some enormous curves in my life — some of my own choosing and other completely out of my control. My sleep consisted of anywhere from 4 to 6 hours of mostly restless nights and I had developed a persistent cough that my family practitioner’s treatment had been unsuccessful in calming. On my own, I had used the usual herb teas that I made form my homegrown herbs, and they helped but they had not stopped the impact of a constant cough. I was exhausted and aching. Having know Conrad Johnston for years and being an advocate of “alternate” health care, I had no reservations about coming to the Dancing Crane. Chinese “herbology” held no questions for me — I wasn’t so sure of acupuncture.
My first session with Greg changed no only my hesitant approach to acupuncture by also my awareness of what I was doing to my life. For that result I am more thankful than I can express. Not only have I not missed a restful night’s sleep since September 2006, but my cough that had come to nag every hour of my day is gone. More importantly, my challenges of time and personal concerns — my “curves” — have not gone away, but my approach to them has definitely shifted, and that different perspective, a direct result of Greg’s keen care and direction, has changed my health and my daily life.
I know without doubt that nothing in a western approach to healthcare could have made this difference for me. My family practitioner is a good man, but had I stayed with that approach to my health concerns, I know I would be on a path of numerous medications that would simply mask the problems and ignore the impact on my whole being.
